Ever so slowly the job market for the tech industry has been taking it’s lumps just like every other career sector. It is true that the last few months have seen a sudden increase in the number of people that have lost a tech position. In comparison to some other job markets in the last year the people in the technology sector have managed to keep their jobs secure.
Yes there is doom and gloom in the tech sector just like everyone else but there appears to be a viable new tech industry that is clearly on the rise. That new job market is for those companies that have positioned themselves at the forefront of green technologies. We are talking about a brand new industry that just got the stamp of approval from the US government with the signing of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). ARRA is loaded with initiatives like tax cuts and funds to invest in the development of green technologies.
The impact of ARRA and the call of President Obama to move the country as a whole to greener technologies should be evidence enough. Evidence that green tech jobs will be a booming industry in the coming years. There is already solid evidence that green tech jobs are already on the rise as it is one of the faster growing job markets in the country right now. That’s saying a lot in what has become the worst recession the country has seen in about 75 years.
Here are a few green job markets that are leading the way in terms of growth. The first one being in the creation of green energy, green construction, green transportation and the creation of green materials. There is such a wide spread need for everything to be done with green technologies right now. Many “analysts” are predicting that the push to go green in all these areas very well maybe the job market that pulls the country out of this recession.
