Following a few days of rumor, Apple has officially confirmed that the company will host an event on September 5th. As is the company’s wont, such events generally signal the announcement of some flavor of new gear. Coming on the heels of the iMac refresh, speculation as to the purpose of this event has turned, as always, to the announcement of new iPods, specifically the ‘nano fatty’ featured in recent spy shots ordered removed from the net by Apple’s lawyers. Some are also hoping it may be the just in time for back to school launch of a 12-inch MacBook Pro ultra-portable.
Only time, and perhaps a few grainy camera phone pics, will tell. Stay tuned for the fateful day.
