What’s up webfolk? Just a quick review of the previous post here on the tech blog before I get to today’s commentary. The last post was debating the on going mobile technology patent wars that got heard it’s biggest shot to date when Google announced a couple of weeks ago that they were buying Motorola mobile and their vast portfolio of patents and patent pendings. So go check it out if you have not read it yet other wise let’s move on to my commentary for today.
How big is Apple really going to get and will there be any competitors strong enough to take them on in the future? Seriously we all read the news a few weeks ago about Apple having more cash available to them which was approximately $77 billion dollars at the time then the US Federal Reserve. Then a few weeks ago a small little tech company by the name of HP, you may have heard of them decided it was time to hang it up and wave the white flag in terms of trying to compete with Apple and their products.
That’s right HP fans they are going to stop making tablet computers and smartphones by this October is the plan and they also plan on selling off their computer business by next year. Let’s try and put that into a little perspective at the present time the HP computer business is the biggest PC business in the world and they are going to cut it loose. So why the huge shift in their business model? Basically they are seeing the writing on the proverbial wall and don’t see any point in trying to compete with Apple anymore so they are cutting their losses changing their whole business model. If you want to read more about the changing of the guard over at HP then click on over to this article which will give you the low down on the HP exodus from the consumer electronic’s business.
So what do you think webfolk? Will it simply be a battle of the biggest tech companies in a few years those being Google, MSN and Apple because to be honest with you if those three don’t buy out your business then it seems like they will just beat you out of their business. Are they just getting to big? Is there such a thing as a tech company getting to big and will the ruin innovation of the future if they continue to dominate the competition as they do? Leave your interesting responses in the comments section down below.
Until the next time peruser, kudos to you ![]()
